Established in 2005 by Kevin Rasmussen, So Cal HERS Raters emerged due to a significant legislative change in California’s HVAC industry. With a new state law mandating the involvement of specialized inspectors known as “HERS Raters” for post-HVAC system alterations or replacements, Kevin saw an opportunity to meet a growing market demand.
Driven by a deep understanding of industry trends and a commitment to quality assurance, Kevin aimed to create a reputable firm that not only met but exceeded regulatory standards. Over the years, his dedication expanded to include a strong focus on energy efficiency, sustainability, and green building practices.
With this newfound passion, So Cal HERS Raters has become a fully certified organization, offering a range of services such as Title-24 energy calculations, HERS verifications, and green building consulting. With nearly two decades of experience, the firm is recognized for its reliability, expertise, and innovation, ready to adapt to the changing landscape of California’s HVAC and energy efficiency industries.
